The Mount Mitchell Golf Club offers a variety of challenges to the visiting golfer. The course received a four and one half star rating in Golf Digest's "Places to Play." North Carolina Magazine ranked Mount Mitchell in the top ten public courses in the state. It features bent grass from tee to green, is virtually flat, has a pristine river flowing through it and awesome views on every shot.

Mount Mitchell Realty is located in the Mount Mitchell Golf Clubhouse. Our on site office provides clients with an intimate knowledge of properties within the golf development. It is open to show property seven days a week during the golf season (April thru November) and by appointment during the off season. Homesites range from $30,000 and up with magnificent mountainside lots available.

Restaurants/Food Service Dining
Our full service dining room is available for your enjoyment with great views of the course and Mt. Mitchell. The newest clubhouse addition is Hawtree's Pub where you can relax after a round with your favorite beverage or enjoy a cocktail before dinner.

Outdoor Activities Climate
From early April to mid November our climate is just about ideal. Normal summertime morning temperatures range between 55 and 60 degrees. Daytime temperatures hover around 80. Our spring and fall weather requires a sweater till mid morning. This mild climate produces blooming wild flowers from March to November. It has been said that this is where springtime spends the summer.

Activities
Trail hiking, tennis, gemstone mining and excellent summer stock theatre offers a variety of "things to do."

Golf The Mount Mitchell Golf Club has been rated four and a half stars (out of five) by Golf Digest Magazine. It is a player friendly par 72, with no blind shots and scenery that makes it hard to keep your mind on golf. It features bent grass tees, greens and fairways. It is in the Toe River valley and is virtually flat. The golf course opens in April and closes during the month of November.

Fishing In addition to golf on our 18 hole course, the fisherman will be delighted with the South Toe River that runs through the development and course. It is brimming with native brown and rainbow trout. Fishing guide service available for individuals or groups.
